The "astounding grounds" with "koi ponds outside rooms" and "spectacular service" bring bliss to "leisure and business travelers alike" at this "older but well-maintained" hotel that's "conveniently located to Stanford and Downtown"; the rooms are "beautiful" but some are "small" and "noisy" if they're on the "interior courtyard by the pool", which is "oddly" placed "in the middle of the outdoor restaurant."

The room felt clean and comfortable.
The lobby and exterior of the hotel seemed dated and in need of maintenance.

The restaurant and staff were surprisingly good and staff helpful.
The way everything, parking, internet, water, etc. is extra. We paid $25 for two 30 second phone calls.

Helpful staff, good restaurant, nice Koi pond. Rooms and bathrooms fairly small with no extras. You pay for everything other than your room, from the internet to parking to ridiculous long distance rates, even to a cell phone. ...read more

The Koi ponds and my room.
No hot tub. Had to go next door to the Westin.

Though an older hotel, it was well maintained. However the fire alarm went off at 1:00 a. m. No staff appeared to reassure us, that there was no fire. It was a mal function due to a pressure drop in the kitchen area. ...read more

Huge room, nice location, and
great amenities.

At check in they said that I had requested a smoking room. The only non-smoking room was a room with a Murphy Bed and a roll away, which I accepted. It was a huge room (1000 sq/ft), but it had a large conference table on one side. No coffee in the room either. It also had a nice sitting area with a leather couch and chair. It was a bit strange, but overall a pretty good stay. ...read more

The pond and the cleanliness.
Expensive, our room was to small, extra money for everything like the bottled water.

The place was very clean and friendly but the room was terrible small.

Close to everything in Palo alto.
They booked a party Saturday night and hotel shutdown. Let us know we did not matter.

Great hotel if you do not mind drunks pulling the fire alarm through the night and hotel staff telling you you can't use the pool/parking because of the party.

Comfortable beds, inviting pool, and nice pond.
Had to go slow through residential area to get to.

It was great for our last stay in California. We were tired and needed a nice, comfortable bed in a convenient location so we could go to San Francisco that night and not have to hurry to fly out of San Jose in the morning. This hotel is clean and a very good value for the price and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. ...read more
